INJECTIONS
Fat dissolving injections at Lookosmetics is a non-invasive procedure that utilises the product AQUALYX® used to treat stubborn areas of fat in the face (chin) and body areas such as the abdomen (tummy)/ love handles/ upper arms/ bra strap/ inner and outer thighs to name a few.

Storage of fat as a natural energy source can store in areas that are often genetically pre-determined; and for those who have an ideal weight with a balanced diet may have areas of ‘stubborn fat’ which Aqualyx is ideal to be used on.
Aqualyx consists of a compound called deoxycholic acid usually found naturally in the body used to break down fat by dissolving the walls of fat cells leading to ‘fat cell death’.

Aqualyx is ideal for those with stubborn fat that cannot afford the downtime, discomfort of the medical invasive procedure of liposuction.

This treatment is not weight loss tool and as previously mentioned, used to sculpt stubborn areas of fat that remains despite the appropriate diet and exercise measures having being taken. If significant weight is gained after the treatment,
The treatment itself will utilise where appropriate a tailored technique using a cannula (blunt long needle) that will minimise injection sites and discomfort often seen with regular multiple injection techniques.
Anaesthetic is used within the product to minimise discomfort of the treatment.

DOES IT LAST?
The fat cells targeted will be permanently destroyed and results can be long term and sometimes permanent however if significant weight is gained after the treatment, the remaining fat cells can expand and the results of the treatment will be compromised.

The chin is a small localised area, this will usually see clients requiring 1 – 3 sessions with a 6 week interval for their desired outcome of a more defined jawline and removal of stubborn fat.

When possible we use a cannula technique that reduces the number of injection sites to aid the comfort during the treatment.
BODY
Large areas such as Abdomen, 'Love-handles', Outer Thighs, Underarms, 'Under-bra area' , Pseudo-gynecomastia ('Man Boob') as well as other areas per session (area is usually determined by the size of a 10cm by 10cm square)

Can I eat what I want after this treatment?
No. this is not a weight loss solution, it is designed for stubborn fat in areas that remain post appropriate exercise levels and a well-balanced diet.

How long will it take to work?*
Aqualyx starts to work immediately by destroying fat cells in the areas injected, however the effects are cumulative and usually seen between 3 - 6 weeks after each treatment as swelling reduces when the body removes the broken down fat cells.

Can I go back to work immediately after procedure?**
Yes for body however you may be at slight discomfort with some swelling. We recommend 2 - 3 days for chin as you are like to swell in this area causing a ‘bullfrog’ appearance, this is normal and will go down in time.

Will I be able to go to the gym within the sensitivity period?
We recommend avoiding demanding rigorous exercise 5 -7 days post treatment as this can reduce the effectiveness of the treatment.
