PRP FOR HAIR LOSS AND

This treatment utilises your body’s own blood in order to obtain a cocktail of growth factors which are injected into the scalp, face and body using mesotherapy or micro needling techniques.

Shortly following a small blood collection from the client (10-20ml), it is spun using a centrifuge in order to separate the blood into distinctive layers of red blood cells, buffy coat (containing white blood cells) and a cocktail of golden fluid containing growth factors.

Our Gold treatments at LooKosmetics use a system in order to obtain a high yield of growth factors which are subsequently activated with calcium chloride to speed up the effects on the treated areas.
Treatments are tailored for the intended treatment area with added Biotin or Hyaluronic Acid- see below for more information on specific areas.

Most people will need a course of 3 treatments 1 month apart followed by a maintenance session twice a year (this can be increased if deemed necessary).

The obtained product contains vital growth factors that aid hair growth during the anagen phase (hair growth phase) by improving follicle vascularisation (blood flow) as well as reducing the time hair spends in telogen phase (hair resting phase) back to the anagen phase.

Added Biotin (vitamin B7) commonly found in foods such bananas, eggs, milk aims to support the hair loss adding to the effects of PRP.

Resulting in thicker and increase hair growth ideal for those with thinning hair or as an adjunct therapy for those who have had a hair transplant.

Hair loss can be caused by many factors, often our clients who visit tend to have hair loss due to androgenic alopecia (hair loss due to patients with sensitivity to DHT which is converted from testosterone which reduces the size of the hair follicle leading to hair loss) is thought to be at increased levels in areas of poor oxygen perfusion.
Sustaining a healthy diet, not smoking, reducing stress and increasing oxygen to the scalp through PRP, massage is likely to aid in reduction of androgenic hair loss. Medication such as finasteride is often taken by those who suffer from androgenic hair loss.​

When we use the product on the face (“Vampire Facial”) or body for skin rejuvenation, our system also contains added non-crosslinked HA (hyaluronic acid) which will acts as a skin booster adding hydration to the skin as well as its combined effects with growth factors accelerating tissue repair; improving skin texture through elastin and collagen stimulation which also improves skin tone, reduces fine lines, scarring and hyperpigmentation.​

I have recently had a hair transplant can I get Mesotherapy?
Yes. This mesotherapy is a great add on therapy that will support your existing and newly transferred hairs. We would normally wait at least 4 weeks post hair transplant unless advised otherwise by your surgeon.

Can I wear makeup after a vampire facial?
Not immediately. The face will be sensitive for the first 24 hours where no makeup or cosmetic products should be worn. If tolerated, makeup and products may be worn after 24 hours however some may not due to sensitivity/ redness.

I’m going on holiday, will I be able to go out in the sun?
Care needs to be taken if travel is taken or you are out in the sun after treatment. It’s advised to avoid intense sunshine for at least 24 hours after treatment and ensure a high SPF is worn after when outside as you will be at higher risk of sunburn.

Is it painful?
Clients receiving vampire facials will have a topical numbing cream applied beforehand to ensure comfort is managed throughout. For hair loss, we employ techniques using a distraction tool when receiving mesotherapy to the scalp.
